Home-workers could save on energy and bills
Are businesses offloading their emissions onto home workers?
Working from home reduces the financial and carbon cost of your commute, but what about increased utility bills? With the UK boasting the oldest and coldest housing stock in Europe, our home workers will be paying that little bit more for their extra hours at home, especially for heating.
A huge 15-30% of home energy can be lost through draughts. The CHEESE Project is on a mission to help people to uncover all those hidden heat leaks and thermal faults, and discover the easy wins and longer terms routes towards fixing them.

Uncovering homes with enhanced thermal imaging

Get started on a journey to making home working as energy-efficient as possible. An enhanced, guided Heatview® thermal imaging survey is one of the best ways to understand where you are losing heat.
Bespoke technology and a blower door are used to depressurise the home, and our trained CHEESE surveyor will examine every nook and cranny together with you, to help pinpoint where precious heat is escaping. Residents are then left with a checklist of areas for attention, with many tasks being low-cost and DIY friendly.
Carbon emissions from working from home form part of Scope 3 emissions
This field of reporting will become more and more important for businesses, as the sector becomes more regulated. Reducing draughts and targeting retrofit measures are essential in helping to reduce energy use in the home, and thermal imaging surveying is an accessible and efficient tool for the workforce
