2025/26 thermal imaging season wrapped

While the weather feels all over the place right now, the CHEESE Project is firmly off season. We finished up in April when it became too warm to achieve the 8-10 degrees difference we need between the indoor and outdoor temperature to get a good contrast for thermal imaging.
Looking back on the last Autumn/Winter, we are delighted to report another 150+ surveys completed. This takes our grand total of surveys to over 1,300 over our ten years in existence, each one representing a home that now has a detailed understanding of where they are losing heat, with practical information on how to improve the issues.
A 2016 study found that “compared to an audit-only group, householders that received an energy saving audit with thermal images were nearly five times as likely to install draught proofing measures”. Thermal imaging is also brilliant for informing larger retrofit projects such as heat pumps, insulation, windows and more.
If you didn’t manage to get booked in this season, get registered on our pre-season interest list and be first in line when we re-open in Autumn.
We weren’t only surveying this past season, thanks very much to grant funding from The Quartet Foundation and the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme, we were able to offer more free surveys than ever before, distribute draughtproofing materials and allocate handyperson hours to those most in need. We also put on a phenomenal 5 workshops, and 2 info days, and attended more than 40 community events, reaching over 1,200 people!
Head to our blog to find out more about our workshops or watch the webinar in full.
Big thanks to our team for making this happen. This includes all of our surveyors, Jo, Boycee, Chris, Rob and Matt, plus our Development Coordinator Tracey and Project Support Officer Hannah. And of course our board of voluntary non-executive directors, Joshua, Geoff, Justin and Dan.
