The CHEESE heatview surveyor team completed 278 surveys in the Bristol area. We had our first survey on the 1st of November, 2023 and the last one on the 23rd of April, 2024. We worked with seven heatview surveyors, five of them have been with us from previous seasons and we trained up two new surveyors.
We assessed the thermal performance of buildings from many different eras: the oldest residential dwelling was built in the 1860s and the newest in 2023. Rob, who completed the highest number of surveys last season, even surveyed a church! (Please note that we can only partially survey churches – especially those with thick walls – because it is impossible to heat up the thermal mass to give clear readings. We can conduct a full thermal assessment on light-structure churches, village halls etc.)
This interactive map shows the locations where we carried out our services.
Retrofit West Vouchers started towards the end of October. Of our 278 customers 267 used vouchers towards the cost.
Originally, the vouchers covered the full £250 towards the cost of a survey. This changed 1st of February and the vouchers covered 2/3rds of survey or up to £250 whichever was lower.
We completed 278 surveys across Bristol and Keynsham.
Of those, we did 11 free surveys funded by the Megawatt grant. Boycee, one of our heatview surveyors, recommended two customers which lead to four bookings as customers referred in others. Rob, another of our surveyors, ran a project offering low-cost surveys for 11 homes in BS9 3 funded by Retrofit West and using vouchers.
